Who I am

  • Welcome to planted and rooted, a space where authenticity, faith, mental health, beauty, and personal growth come together.

    I am a Social Worker and a follower of Jesus Christ who is passionate about helping others thrive in who the Lord has created them to be while navigating different seasons of life. Through this blog, I share lessons I’m learning, give practical biblical encouragement for walking with the Lord daily, reflect on faith, thoughts on mental health and wellness, beauty favorites, and everyday life.

    This is a space for authentic conversations, growth, and learning how to stay planted and rooted in the Lord and His word daily. This isn’t a place of me pretending that I have it all together. Instead, it’s a space for honesty, humility and understanding that the Lord isn’t calling either of us to be perfect. He is calling us to lean on Him, trust in Him, and allow Him direct our steps. He knows the best path for us, and most importantly, He cares about us and loves us dearly.

  • Biblical Truth
    Grounding ourselves in God’s Word more than our feelings and allowing scripture to shape our beliefs, decisions, and actions.

    Abiding in Jesus
    Remaining connected to Jesus through prayer and His word. As we stay connected to the Vine, we will look more like Jesus.

    Intentionality
    Choosing to seek God daily in the midst of the chaos in the world while also being mindful of how we spend our time with Jesus.

    Growth
    Embracing every season of life and allowing the Lord to prune what doesn’t look like Him.

    Grace
    Extending grace to ourselves is essential on this walk. Growth is a journey, and we may not always get it right, but we can refocus and keep our eyes on the main thing, which is God.

    Faithfulness
    Trusting in the Lord and remaining rooted in Him through every season, whether it’s easy or difficult.

    Authentic Community
    Creating a space where can have honest conversations, count are struggles as joy, and encourage one another as we grow closer in our relationship with Jesus.

  • My walk with the Lord has been marked by different seasons of growth, pruning, sanctification, refinement, alignment, and learning what it truly means to be rooted in the Lord. I’ve always had a relationship with the Lord, but as I go through tough situations, I’m able to see more of His love and faithfulness.

    I’m learning that following Jesus isn’t about getting everything right or hurrying to get out of a difficult season. The Lord cares more about my heart posture and developing a genuine relationship with me than me just getting to a certain destination. As I continue to walk with the Lord, he has shown me how my walk with Him is like a dance. There is so much beauty in this walk with the Lord. We just have to continue to take it step by step.

    Planted & Rooted was created as a space to share what I am learning, encourage others in their walk with Christ, and remind people that no matter the season they are in, God is faithful to sustain, grow, sanctify, and strengthen those who remain rooted in Him.
